Frequently Asked Questions

I loaded an image and clicked render, but the output is just one color. Why?

Either you didn't outline anything or there were gaps in the outlines. Rotoscope requires human input in order to work properly. The left mouse button draws lines, the right mouse button finishes drawing. Lines must form closed regions for rotoscope to work.

The Windows version of rotoscope says it can't locate some DLL files. What can I do?

Download and install a GTK Runtime Environment.

What features are going to be added to rotoscope?

In the short term features that enhance outlining or rendering are going to be added, and in the long term I hope for rotoscope to be capable of rotoscoping video.

Highest priorities at the moment are:

Will tablets ever be supported?

I don't have one, so I can't add support for them yet. I am very interested in the idea, though!

Couldn't rotoscope be a plugin for some-other-program instead of being a separate application?

Yes, but the long-term plan is to make it feature-rich whilst keeping it the user interface as simple as possible. I think the best way to achieve that goal is by keeping rotoscope a separate application.
